Sandbox is a shared, mixed-age play environment designed for children ages 0–12.  At the heart of the experience is our clean, soft indoor sand—designed for digging, building, sensory play, and imaginative exploration in a safe, climate-controlled space. It’s a community setting where families gather, connect, and enjoy open-ended play together.

Yes! Sandbox is designed to be inclusive, and we occasionally offer toddler and sensory-friendly play opportunities in our private sandbox space at Garden City.

8. Do I need to sign a waiver?

Yes, a waiver is required for all participants. One adult can complete a waiver for themselves and any minors in their care. Waivers can be completed online or in person.  Waiver Link.

Wear comfortable play clothes. Shoes and socks are removed in the sand areas, so we recommend easy on/off footwear like sandals.

Yes—sand tends to follow little ones home in pockets and hair! We provide brushing stations at both locations, and Meridian also has a foot wash station.

Yes, outside food and snacks are welcome.  We also have a full cafe offering sandwiches, salads, drinks, and snacks.

Yes, private parties may be happening during your visit. Sandbox is a shared space, so you may see celebrations taking place alongside open play.

To keep Sandbox safe and enjoyable for everyone:
Help keep eyes safe by not throwing or kicking sand
Shoes come off in sand areas and go on in bathrooms
Parents/guardians must actively supervise children
Only Sandbox toys are allowed—please leave outside toys at home
Be respectful and kind to others
Smoking or vaping must stay outdoors

No—outside toys are not allowed. We provide everything you need for a great play experience.  If there is a specific item you'd like us to carry, please let our staff know.

Yes, the layout allows for clear lines of sight throughout most of the space, making it easier to keep track of children.

We ask that children do not jump off the pirate ship structure, as it poses a higher fall risk.  Running across sand spillage may also present a slip hazard.  Please exercise caution while playing and exploring.

Our sand is groomed daily and sanitized weekly. All toys are also sanitized daily.

Garden City: The sand is a premium, natural, sustainably sourced material that does not require chemical treatment, chosen for its softness, texture, and elevated sensory experience.

Meridian: The sand is treated with Arena Klean to help maintain a clean and safe play environment for guests.

Both locations are regularly groomed and cleaned to ensure a high standard of cleanliness.

22. What should I know before bringing my child for the first time?

Every child experiences Sandbox differently—and that’s not just okay, it's amazing. Families come in all shapes and sizes. Our goal is to provide a space where families can explore, play, and feel comfortable in their own way. We recommend a first time visit during a quieter time, taking things at your child’s pace, and knowing that it’s perfectly fine to take breaks as needed.
